How Chiropractic Can Help

Chiropractic Care Can Help

Chiropractic care is used to treat a wide array of painful conditions without the use of prescription pain medications or surgery.

Back & Neck Pain

Neck and back pain can be caused by pinched nerves, poor movement patterns, or trauma to the area. Chiropractic care can reduce tension, increase mobility and aid in the healing process.

Headaches

Headaches can be caused by muscle tension, irritated joints, and poor posture.  Chiropractors use manipulative therapy, soft tissue techniques, ergonomic advice and exercise to get at the root cause.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries include strains, sprains and tendonitis. Chiropractic care can help aid the healing process by reducing inflammation, restoring joint function and decreasing pain, leading to a quicker recovery.

How we use Chiropractic Methods at Taylor Chiropractic

Manual Adjustments

Chiropractic manipulative therapy can be utilized for any joint but most often it is performed on those of the spine.  Manipulations  improve mobility, flexibility and improve joint function. Manual adjustments are performed by applying a controlled force with the hands. You may feel an immediate sense of relief but it’s also common to feel a little soreness in the following days as your body adapts to it’s new functional ability.

Activator Methods

Sometimes smaller and more precise adjustments are needed on more delicate areas of the body and for these purposes a chiropractor may use a small tool called an activator.

Rehabilitation

After your chiropractor has restore range of motion to your joints or spine Dr. Taylor will teach you rehabilitative exercises to maintain that range of motion, improve movement patterns and posture. These are a vital piece of the treatment and will enhance recovery efforts greatly.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Muscles are often the cause of pain so chiropractors will use soft tissue therapies to reduce tension, improve flexibility and reduce pain.  Therapies include trigger point therapy, assisted stretching, and instrument assisted soft tissue therapy.

Ergonomic Activity Coaching

Based on your daily routine, you may have developed improper movement patterns without even knowing it. Ergonomics is the process of evaluating your daily movements like sitting, standing, walking, etc and and making adjustments to those movements or postures to support how your body was made to move.
